*Looks around to see who’ll be first to call her out on her cheese*
If you haven’t guessed by now, my good news today involves the Broadway hit, Hairspray, and its return to Detroit! I’ve loved this musical since I was in college when the movie musical came out (Nikki Blonsky/Zac Efron version, anyone?) and loved the film so much, I saw it THREE TIMES in the theater. Since then, I’ve also seen the 1988 film version (not my fave, but to each their own), but I have yet to see this absolute BOP on stage. Like 15 years later. That’s too long, guys.
Thankfully, I’m finally getting my chance to sing and dance along live with Tracy, Edna, Seaweed, and Little Inez … and if you’re up for a fun night in downtown Detroit, you’re about to get that chance, too.
