About

Hey, there! I'm excited that you've dropped by. Pop a squat and stay for a little while, eh?

While you're waiting, I'll tell you a little bit about myself and what you'll find in this blog.

The Who of It

Jennifer

For starters, my name's Jennifer (that's me, in the photo). I was born and raised in southwest Virginia and currently live in southeast Michigan with my husband, Brad (we'll get to him in a sec). I have unruly hair, a newfound addiction to Trader Joe's dark chocolate bars, and talk a lot. Like, a lot a lot.

That's Brad. We got hitched in 2011, right before we moved up here. It was a little bit of a whirlwind at the time (getting married/relocating/finishing school/switching workplaces), but we both made it out alive. He's my partner in crime and you'll see me reference him in just about every post I write . . . mostly because he's always with me and I don't have to ask permission to post pictures of him on the internet.

{Other People}

I also tend to reference various members of my family in my writing. My parents live in Virginia in the town where I grew up, and I visit them a lot and they visit me occasionally . . . a balance based on something about how I owe them for keeping me alive for so long or something like that.

My little sister, Carolyn, lives in a different part of Virginia and makes big, pretty things for theatres. She's really smart. She also walks around with paint on her clothes and regularly listens to NPR and YouTube recordings of the Constitution. She will be thrilled that I included her in this introduction.

The What & Where

My posts usually revolve around the places I visit and things I do as I explore Michigan, with the occasional story about a trip back home or project I've been working on thrown in. Sometimes I'll do something nuts like visit Chicago or declare my plan to become a master scrapbooker. But the jury's still out on that second thing.

Why(ish) and My Declaration of Love for You All

And lastly: I love readers, I love comments, and I love you all for visiting my blog! Now, I humbly request that you go forth and read my writings. Because it's what keeps that little pep in my step. And I think you may just enjoy yourselves. :)
