MIA: April & May 2014 Edition

11:29 PM

Guys, I knowwww.

It's like I got sucked into a vortex. A vortex without any sense of balanced time, or words, or . . . things . . .

I really have no excuse as to why I haven't been here, other than the fact that life gets away from me from time to time. But such is life, and such is this. And here I am, and it's time to catch you up on all that's been going on.

1. Brad Went to Brazil

It's true! Brad went to Brazil earlier this month on a mission trip to São Paulo. Along with 10 other people, he spent 10 days traveling, playing clarinet, and doing back-breaking manual labor to help build a new church and share The Gospel. The stories the team brought back were amazing--if you're interested in learning more about the trip, let me know in the comments and I'll be happy to share any answers I can muster up!

2. My Family Came to Visit

Of course, since Brad was gone for a week and a half, I had to make my family come keep me company while he was gone. I'm so thankful that my parents and sister were willing to trek the lonnnnng drive to Michigan just to hang out with me!

3. I Met Josh Gracin
This one is totally random, but very cool. I met the country singer through a work collaboration, and as a result got to hang out with him when he came back to Michigan (he used to live here) for a concert in Lansing last week. The dinosaur is another story . . . just roll with it.

4. I've Been Hanging Out With My Amazing Church Family

Lately, I have been immersing myself in so much church culture, and I love it! Brad and I have been attending the same church for about two and a half years now, but it seems like we've known the people there for a lot longer. So much fun and friendly support, whether through ministry opportunities or weekend activities. I feel so fortunate to have found such a wonderful congregation of loving believers!

5. I've Been Writing! Just In This Other Place:

My latest post on the Awesome Mitten front page!

And lastly, although I've been MIA for longer than I'd like to admit, I've spent a little bit of whatever free time I've had writing for The Awesome Mitten! In fact, there's a new post up this week. I hope you'll check out the site and meet me over there for my monthly column!

And there you go . . . we should be up to date now. If you have any questions, let me know! Talk to you soon (promise).
