|Birthday Meets Spook-Day|
Another birthday has come and gone, and how am I celebrating this weekend? By hanging out at home and getting a little R&R. Fall-scented candles, a hot cup of Trader Joe's coffee, and an afternoon bumming it up in my pajamas. As I write this, I'm looking out at a cold, rainy day and just enjoying being cozy.
My birthday/Halloween this year was low-key, but lots of fun. At work, my co-workers surprised me by decorating my cubicle with lots of birthday streamers and fake spiders, followed by a delicious smorgasbord of barbecue sandwiches and candy/cake/treats galore. And, of course, I wore my costume throughout the day (and evening) for a little added festivity.

The getup was surprisingly easy (save for my hunt to find a pair of white pants in late October) and seemed to be a big hit. I thank the internet for providing me with printable templates and The Limited for having garments in my size stowed in their clearance section. But I'm not sure I'll thank my real-life Progressive Snapshot, which beeps at me every time I take less than five minutes to make a complete stop.
Halloween evening, I went home to a "big" group of FOUR trick-or-treaters (wind + rain + not living in fairy tale suburbia = lame turnout) and let Brad take me out to a wonderful dinner. Tilapia stuffed with crab meat, shrimp, scallops, and CHEESE? Yeah, I'm still dreaming about that meal.

|Brad's pumpkin. It was much better before half of it fell out (but you can tell what it's supposed to be, right?)|
This weekend, the plan is to make my house a little warmer/comfier for my parents, who (hopefully) will be coming to visit in a few days! I can't wait to celebrate the end of birthday season and the beginning of the holiday season with them. Anyone know if there are still some cider mills open throughout November?
